The Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce held an open house and ribbon cutting today (September 17) to celebrate being the official owners of their office.
While they have been in their current location for the past ten years, they were renting the office they are in, until recently.
According to Marilyn Aalhus, the Executive Director with the Chamber of Commerce, they began thinking about purchasing their own real estate several years ago.
Aalhus adds that it is a wonderful feeling, but when the idea was first presented, there was some hesitation.
There were numerous people in attendance for the ribbon cutting, including members of Council and Airdrie Mayor, Peter Brown, who was quick to credit Aalhus on her work with the Chamber of Commerce.
For anyone interested in meeting the chamber members, they are hosting their meet the Chamber at the Canalta Hotel in Airdrie, which used to be the Ramada, on September 25, and is free to attend.
