    Awarded to a business that is independently owned and operated, has been in Airdrie for at least 10 years, has shown sustained growth and contributions to local employment. This business has invested in the community and sees community investment as a core part of the company’s values.

    Award Eligibility:

    • Business must hold a valid City of Airdrie business license; this license must remain in the same business name for 10 years
    • Business must be operating with the City of Airdrie for a minimum of ten (10) years
    • Nominees must not have received this award in the past five years
    • Self-nominations are eligible

    airdrielife magazine is an award -winning quarterly magazine celebrating the good life in Airdrie, Alberta. Publishing since 2004, airdrielife is a polished and professional reflection of the community it covers. Each issue features stories about interesting people, worthy causes, innovative and creative businesses, lively events, places to shop, eat and play and where to live, and how to enjoy life in this growing city.
    The magazine is available free in more than 200 locations in Airdrie and Calgary. We currently print 15,000 copies per issue.  Averaging 80-96 pages an issue, we rely on local and regional advertisers to bring the magazine to life. All issues are also available in digital format on our website airdrielife.com 
    The magazine also produces two annual events that compliment editorial features; the Amazing Airdrie Women Awards (now entering its 14th year) and the Awesome Airdrie Kids Awards (year seven in 2023/24).



  • Airdrie Music Lessons

    Airdrie Music Lessons is a local small business that provides Music and Arts education to students aged 3 & up including Singing, Piano, Guitar, Drums, Ukulele, Rock Band, Preschool Music, Drama, & Art. AML began in 2010 with one student and now serves 500+. AML employs 5 FT & 7 PT staff, & local contractors. AML also hosts Summer Camps & various free events. Students attend weekly lessons & perform locally (2 annual large scale concert days, Good Earth Café, fundraisers, Boo At The Creek, Christmas events, Canada Day Parade, festivals & trade shows) Awards & Recognition (partial list): 2023 Alberta Small Business Of The Year Award Finalist, 2022 Airdrie Covid Warrior Award Winner, 2021 Airdrie Business Award Winner (Employer Excellence), 2020 Airdrie Business Award Finalist (Innovation), 2019 Best Music School (Star Metro), 2018 Arts Educator Of The Year Award Nominee (Mayor's Awards), 2017 Arts Educator Of The Year Award Nominee (Mayor's Awards).
