  • Modern Elevation

In the fall of 2019 we attended the International Float Conference to learn more about floating, and make the final decision to open the float center with some guidance from the international float community. Once we started our journey to re-opening the float center we focused on our team and need to find a great partner to help us manage the center. In January 2020 we officially opened our doors to the public, and made the decision to honor all outstanding Ascension credits and gift cards. Faced with our first Covid shut down a mere 75 days after officially opening we focused on our social media presence and worked to improve our social media skills and the quality of the information we were sharing with the community. In the summer of 2020 we launched The Collective, a shared professional wellness studio. To end the year we held our first big community engagement program by initiating the first ever Modern Elevation Best Backyard Rink in Airdrie contest. We recognized that Airdrie Families had put so much time and effort into their rinks and we wanted to recognize them and celebrate everything that a backyard rink means to the family and community. As always in Airdrie the response was amazing with 14 rink entries and over 2,500 votes from the community. We are already planning the return of the second annual back yard rink contest and know it will be bigger and better this year. We are very proud to be from Airdrie, and so appreciative for everything that our community has to offer. Being nominated for an Airdrie Business award is a great compliment and we are extremely humbled and grateful to be included in such a group of esteemed individuals and organizations. Thank you.

  • Second Generation Exteriors Contracting Inc.

Second Generation Exteriors is a family run company based out of Airdrie, Alberta. The owner Brad, and his father, Lawrence, started a small exterior contracting company in Leduc, Alberta almost 40 years ago. At the young age of 10 Brad began working alongside his dad. With his guidance he started Second Generation Exteriors in 2014. Since then, Second Generation Exteriors has completed over 500 jobs ranging from large commercial projects to small repairs. Second Generation Exteriors’ bread and butter is making your house a home. As the company has grown so has the Second Gen team. The residential team has over 25 years experience perfecting the exterior of your home. Having this kind of experience and know how has given the company an edge when dealing with the extensive hail damage Airdrie has experienced. The damage to some homes has been devastating, but Second Gen has been able to make their clients vision of their home a reality. It is genuinely rewarding work. Second Generation Exteriors also had a foot in the realm of commercial roofing, but Brad’s experience with commercial roofing left him wanting. He recognized that there was a void in products available for metal and low-slope roofs. This led him to the innovative product, Turbo-Set. With the entrepreneurial spirit behind him, Brad expanded the commercial division and focussed on the benefits of Turbo-Set. Second Generation Exteriors is the first company in Alberta to readily offer this advanced product. Second Gen saw success bringing Turbo-Set to market in 2020. Now that Second gen has both feet in the commercial roofing industry, their goal for 2021 is to bring awareness of this innovative product to clients all over southern Alberta. Second Generation Exteriors is a proud member of the Airdrie community. Airdrie City View has awarded them Best of Airdrie, Readers’ Choice Awards for 2019 and 2020. Second Generation is an active participant in many charitable events that benefit local foundations such as the Airdrie Food Bank, the Boys & Girls Club of Airdrie, and the Nathan O’Brien Children’s Foundation. Brad has always been an active member of the community and has always take the time to help his neighbours. Whether that is sharing his expertise or providing pro bono work for locals in need, Brad has always taken care of his community.
