This award honours a home-based business that has demonstrates excellence in entrepreneurship, growth, innovation, and customer service while successfully operating from a residential setting.
Award Criteria:
- Entrepreneurial Excellence – demonstrates strong initiative, professionalism, and resilience in building and operating a successful business
- Business Growth – evidence of consistent business development, such as increased sales, customer growth, expanded services, improved systems, or long-term business planning.
- Innovation – uses creative approaches, unique offerings, technology, or flexible business practices to meet customer needs and stand out in the marketplace.
- Customer Service Excellence – commitment to delivering high-quality products or services and creating a positive customer experience.
Award Eligibility:
- Business must be operating for a minimum of 2 years.
- Nominees must operate from a residential address (not a commercial or retail storefront).
- Nominees must operate as an independent business with clear local ownership, decision-making authority, and a primary revenue model based on the direct sale of products or services to customers.
- Operate within the region indicated on the map.
- Not have anyone in their management, on their board, or as an employee serving on the adjudication committee.
- Have a representative available to attend the Airdrie Regional Business Awards Gala on October 22, 2026.
- Complete and submit a Nominee form to be eligible.
- Please note: Businesses that primarily operate through recruitment-based compensation structures, downline commissions, or third-party distributor/representative models are not eligible for this award.
- To be eligible as a finalist for the Airdrie Regional Business Awards, you must be a member of the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce. Submissions from non-members will still be considered; however, if selected as a finalist, you will need to join the Chamber to maintain your eligibility.
NOTE: Only one submission per business or organization is required to be nominated. All nominations remain anonymous. Self-nominations are accepted in this category. The ARBA planning committee reserves the right to reallocate nominees into the appropriate award category if they are determined to be ineligible in the Home-based Business Award category. All nominations remain anonymous.
