ANNUAL STATE OF THE REGION 2026
The Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for the inaugural State of the Region and Economic update.
Sponsored by BDC, this event is designed to strengthen connections and communication between businesses and Rocky View County.

Reeve Sunny SamraReeve Sunny Samra represents Rocky View County Division 6, which includes the Conrich, Indus, and Dalemead areas. He and his family have called the Conrich area home since 2012. Reeve Samra brings a strong background in technology and public service, with an Engineering degree in Computer Science and professional experience with IBM and the Canada Revenue Agency. He is also a licensed real estate professional.
First elected to Council in 2021, Reeve Samra is known for his community-focused approach and his advocacy on issues such as growth, infrastructure, water, and local services. He has supported on-the-ground improvements that reflect resident priorities, including road safety enhancements, park amenities, and community grant outcomes. He is also active in regional collaboration and intermunicipal partnerships, including work connected to the Prairie Economic Gateway and neighbouring municipalities. Reeve Samra was selected by Council to serve as Reeve following this 2025 re-election.
Pierre Cléroux
Vice President, Research and Chief Economist at BDCHe leads BDC’s economic research team, tracking the business and sector shifts shaping Canada’s entrepreneurial economy and helping entrepreneurs and decision makers act with confidence in periods of uncertainty by translating economic change into practical guidance on productivity, competitiveness and resilient growth.
A seasoned speaker, Mr. Cléroux advises BDC’s senior management team on economic conditions and strategic priorities to help ensure the Bank remains responsive as markets evolve. With more than 25 years as an economist, he has held senior roles in Canada and internationally, contributing to policies and initiatives that directly impacted entrepreneurs and our country’s small- and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). He also sits on the board of the CIRANO inter-university research centre and is Chair of the Economy and Financial Institutions Committee of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ).Date and Time
