With the Municipal Election coming up on October 18th, the Municipal Election Candidate Forum hosted by the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, which will take place over Zoom, might be able to answer some burning questions Airdronians may have.

Marilyn Aalhus, Executive Director for the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, says she has a good idea as to what questions the Chamber will be asking the candidates.

“The questions that the Chamber asks are always geared towards how the Council will plan to support businesses if they were to be elected. Definitely some good questions around business support in our community, and just in general, what these individuals are hoping to do to support the business community. The economic impact on business has an impact on all residents, so that’s really the focus of the chamber." says Aalhus.

If Airdrie residents would like to ask specific questions to the candidates or to attend the virtual forum, they have the chance. Airdronians can click through to the Airdrie Chamber website to sign up.

Aalhus went on to say that they've already received many great questions from the community in advance and look forward to seeing even more questions come in before the event. But of course, because they are trying to fit the forum within the 2-hour time slot, not every question will be addressed.

There are three mayoral candidates attending the forum and 14 Councillor candidates that have been confirmed.

The Airdrie Municipal Election is October 18th.
