SUMMARY:Marijuana and the Workplace Workshop - Full day
DESCRIPTION:The morning information session will provide an overview of the cannabis regulations\, workplace case law\, and drug testing. Participants will learn their "Duty to accommodate" and how a new regulatory environment on legalized drugs affects their role as an employer: general strategic advice\, regulatory matters and other business needs in regards to the new regulations. It will also provide employers with some practical tools to manage risks and avoid human resource problems before they arise and help give insight on how to find positive outcomes\, disputes\, including litigation\, arbitration and human rights complaints in regards to the new regulations.\n \n\nWe have two industry experts presenting in our morning information session:\n\nAlison McMahon facilitator from Cannabis at Work and the Cannabis Law Team from DD West LLP\, Airdrie.\n \n\nThe afternoon will have a deep dive on drug and alcohol policy\, including GAP analysis on participants current policy. The participants will be given a sample drug and alcohol policy and business processes for managing medical and recreational cannabis disclosures.\n \n\nAlison McMahon from Cannabis at Work will be our afternoon presenter/facilitator.\n \n\n**Lunch is included
