SUMMARY:CANCELLED: Digital Marketing Tactics to succeed in the mobile environment
DESCRIPTION:Due to low registration numbers this workshop has been cancelled.\n\n\n\nHuman society has shifted the way it communicates substantially over the last 20 years\, in particular in the last 10. The introduction of the smartphone in the 2000's represented a major change. Google recently asked people how they would describe their mobile phone and the role it played in their lives. Responses included terms such as "attached to my hip"\, "butler"\, and "lifeline."\n\n \n\nAs Google puts it\, these "are not things we say about our toaster."\n\n \n\nMobile devices are changing the way we communicate with not just each other\, but with businesses. Micro-moments are when people pick up their phone and take some kind of action to engage with a business in real time. How can you make sure that you are competing in this new environment?\n\n \n\nWe will review how to use marketing tactics of all kinds to ensure that your business is doing what needs to be done to succeed in the mobile environment. Google's micro-moments and mobile strategy combined with sound print and digital marketing tactics will help you succeed. We will examine Google's ideas on how to Be There\, Be Useful\, and Be Quick\, and how to take these ideas and bring them into reality to help your business. Learn how to capitalize on society's shift to mobile from a marketing perspective.\n\n\n\nSpeaker: James Rennick\, Director of Digital Marketing for Great West Digital\n\n\n\nJames has been building and designing websites since 2006. He is a small to medium business digital marketing expert with a focus on web design\, SEO\, and display advertising. He possesses a MBA from Athabasca University and Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta.
