SUMMARY:Being Nurtured in Nature - Listening. Receiving. Transforming.
DESCRIPTION:Forest Therapy\, also known as Forest Bathing and Shinrin-Yoku\, is a therapeutic practice that guides people to an inner state of relaxation and sensory restoration through doing a series of sensory oriented invitations that bring them into a present moment relationship with the forest. It is a gentle\, physically undemanding practice taking place in an area of a forest or along a forest trail.\n\n\n\nForest Therapy supports the health of both humans and forests. The therapeutic benefits of this practice are primarily attributed to the interaction and relationship between the participant and the forest environment\, with the forest therapy guide utilizing the best practices for guiding the participant into this relationship. It is a practice within the larger field of eco-therapy and eco-psychology.\n\n \n\nThe walk will be approximately two hours but does not cover a large distance. Please wear comfortable shoes as there will be terrain changes\, dress comfortably and bring a water bottle.\n\n\n\nSpecial Guest:\n\nShelley Anderson is a Forest Therapy Guide who works with individuals of all ages helping them sink into nature and experience an intentional pathway into health\, wholeness\, and happiness and is situated in Port Alberni\, B.C. Shelley believes the work she does enables her clients to reset the stress button\, boost immune function\, kick start creativity\, and feel so much better! Not only does spending time in nature significantly benefit those who struggle with anxiety\, ADD\, ADHD\, autism\, and any other mental health challenges but it benefits people of all ages for all time.\n\n\n\nForest Therapy Guides from Nature Impact:\n\n\n\nJosh Massop:\n\nJosh Massop Is a Forest Therapy Guide who works in the Calgary\, Alberta area. His passion is for helping those who need it most\; those that spend their lives serving others (such as ministry\, councilors\, front lines workers and others).\n\n\n\nJosh completed his Forest Therapy training in August 2021 in Tofino\, BC.\, receiving his certification in June 2022. Most of his current walks take place in natural areas in and around the Calgary area. \n\n\n\nAmong Josh's interests are exercise\, golf\, surfing\, and anything that gets him out in nature.
