Over the last twelve years Marilyne has had the privilege of calling Airdrie home and can’t think of a better place to work, volunteer, and raise a family. Since September 2018, she has had the honour of leading the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce team as Executive Director.

Marilyne has a bilingual marketing degree from Campus St Jean in Edmonton and graduated from the Television Broadcasting program at SAIT.

She worked for Global News Calgary for several years but always had a passion for helping others. After starting a family with her husband Bruce over 16 years ago, she left broadcasting to pursue a fulltime career in the non-profit world. Having worked for organizations such as the MS Society, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Missing Children’s Society, Marilyne has built many strong connections and experiences in non-profit management.

Closer to home, Marilyne has had the privilege of working for Volunteer Airdrie, the Airdrie Public Library and ultimately, she found her place at the Airdrie Chamber where she has been able to grow our amazing organization while working with so many wonderful individuals.

Marilyne was awarded the Alberta Chamber Executive of the Year Award for 2021 and our team and business community is very lucky and grateful to have such an amazing leader. Marilyne has done and continues to do an incredible job of growing the chamber and increasing the value of what it means to be a member.

  • Tammy Block
    Marketing & Membership Coordinator

    tammy@airdriechamber.ab.ca

Tammy grew up in Saskatchewan and attended the Medicine Hat College where she received a Diploma in Visual Communications. After moving to Calgary and beginning her career in marketing, she started a consulting and graphic design business which she still operates today. She spent six years managing a small print shop and the next eight in various marketing roles for a large tech company.

Tammy and her family moved to Airdrie in 2011, missing the small-town community feel. While working full time in Calgary, she and a childhood friend decided to open an indoor cycling studio in Airdrie and became students in the pilot year of the SMARTstart entrepreneurial training program. They successfully opened their business in 2015 and Tammy quit her full-time job to become a full-time entrepreneur. She managed all aspects of the business, specifically marketing, events and even taught some classes. Tammy and her business partner continued throughout part of the global pandemic before deciding the long-term impact would be detrimental to their livelihoods. They closed their doors permanently after six years.

During the pandemic Tammy took on a part-time role as the Marketing Communications Coordinator at the Airdrie Chamber. Her role has now evolved to include part-time Membership Coordinator. Tammy has always had a passion for helping others and looks forward to supporting and advocating for businesses in the years to come.
